The IADC's well control certification program is called WellSharp, which has specific tracks for both drilling and well servicing. IADC WellSharp Well Services Certification The Well Services track is designed for personnel involved in well intervention and workover activities. It ensures that workers have the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent and manage well control incidents during operations like coiled tubing, snubbing, wireline, and workovers. The WellSharp Well Services training is structured to be position-specific, with different courses tailored to the roles and responsibilities of the personnel. Levels of Certification There are typically two main levels within the Well Services track: Introductory Course: This course provides foundational knowledge on well control concepts. It's suitable for a broad range of rig crew personnel who need to understand the principles of well control but may not be directly responsible for the operational decision-making. Equipment Operator Courses: These courses are more specialized and are designed for personnel who directly operate equipment. They are further divided by the type of well service: Coiled Tubing Snubbing Wireline Workover Oil & Gas Operator Representative (OGOR) / Wellsite Leader: This is a higher-level course for personnel who are in a supervisory or management role. It's for those who are involved in the operational decision-making process for well control and the design of well barriers.
