Well control awareness at Level 1 is an introductory training course designed for a broad range of personnel who work in or around drilling and well services operations but may not have direct well control responsibilities. The main goal is to provide foundational knowledge to improve overall safety awareness and risk management on the rig. Who is Level 1 Well Control Awareness For? This training is not for drillers or supervisors who need to know how to perform a well kill. Instead, it is aimed at: Entry-level personnel: New hires, roustabouts, and deck crew. Support staff: Office-based employees like logistics coordinators, rig schedulers, and well planners. Third-party personnel: Non-supervisory staff from service companies, such as those involved in casing, cementing, and equipment inspection. Students and graduates entering the oil and gas industry.
